Our First Search the Ship Contest in 2010

of their best suites of products for the winners of the Red Gate SQL Cruise Alaska 2012 Search the Ship Contest.  As is tradition on the first night of the SQL Cruise we will be sending the Cruisers and their guests all over the ship on a photo scavenger hunt.  This accomplishes three things:  it builds teamwork, it allows everyone to become familiar with the ship on the first night, and it helps to get everyone to start interacting with those they’ve just met; oh, and it’s fun too!  Our Cruisers and their guests in the past have been on the hunt for guys in shorts and black socks, strange couples in Hawaiian shirts (even on the Alaska cruises), and have been driven to hop on water slides and in hot tubs with their clothes on to win prizes and glory on night one.  Alaska in 2012 should be no different.

Another Speaker Joins SQL Cruise Alaska

Yes, that is correct.  We’re welcoming another speaker on board and anticipate being able to attain a 3:1 student to trainer ratio for this SQL Cruise.  Idera Software, our latest Honeymoon Suite-level sponsor is bringing their brand-new hire, Robert Davis, on board as a speaker in May!  Robert comes to Idera (and to SQL Cruise) with a strong background in Microsoft SQL Server and community involvement.  Robert recently held the post of Project Manager over the Microsoft SQL Server Certified Master (MCM) Program at the corporate headquarters in Redmond, WA.  An established speaker, Robert has spoken at SQL Saturdays and at the PASS Summit and brings a deep range of knowledge with him to present and to share with our cruisers.
